Case Study: Best Practices for Modeling Using Finite Element Analysis for Combination Products

Location: 210B
Pass Type: Conference (Paid) - Get your pass now!
Conference Track: MD&M: Product Development Best Practices
Recording: TBD

Nowadays, many drug-device combination products come in prefilled syringes, with the drug injected with a device like an autoinjector. Injection of the drug into the syringe with the device must be done accurately. Performance tests have limitations to verify the design covering the entire design space, so modeling (first principles) should be performed in addition to performance tests.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Case studies where dosing and finite element analysis models (FEA) were used
  • Best practices for solving potential or existing performance issues
  • Enhancing product development process using FEA
